A child dealing with a persistent, untreated health issue is far more likely to fall behind or drop out altogether — regardless of how good the school itself is.
What Happens at an MMU Visit for Children
Every MMU stop includes child health checks — growth monitoring, basic screening, and referral for anything serious — alongside vaccination support from our Staff Nurse. These visits often double as a natural touchpoint for our Community Mobilizer to speak with parents about school enrolment, particularly for girls, who face a steeper dropout risk in many of the districts we work in.
How This Supports Our Broader Education Programme
Our education support work — helping children access schooling, learning materials, and in some areas digital learning tools — runs more effectively when paired with basic child health monitoring.
